A LIFETIME DEDICATED TO AVIATION EDUCATION

CFI C.A.R.E. was founded in 2008 by Gary L. Kruger, an FAA Gold Seal Flight Instructor with more than 60 years of aviation experience.

Having seen flight training evolve over six decades—from legacy Practical Test Standards (PTS) to today’s Airman Certification Standards (ACS)—one persistent challenge remained for flight students and instructors alike: source material overload. Candidates were routinely handed thousands of pages across the PHAK, AFH, FAR/AIM, and FAA handbooks, yet lacked a structured, task-by-task roadmap showing how an examiner evaluates Knowledge, Risk Management, and Skills during an actual checkride.

Devoting his focus to developing comprehensive study companions, Gary created the ACS Companion Series. Each guide organizes required elements into practical, scenario-based questions and answers designed to eliminate study drift, instill confidence, and help applicants pass their checkrides on the first attempt.
